I serve as Associate Editor for Functional Ecology and The Auk: Ornithological Advances, and serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Evolutionary Biology and Physiological and Biochemical Zoology.

I am part of the European Network for Melanin Research (EuMelaNet) to promote multidisciplinary research on melanins and melanogenesis and bridge the gap between basic and applied research in this field.
