I serve as Associate Editor for Functional Ecology and as editorial board member for Ecological and Evolutionary Physiology. I have previously served as Associate Editor for The Auk: Ornithological Advances (2015-2020) and on the editorial board for the Journal of Evolutionary Biology (2016-2020).

I am part of the European Network for Melanin Research (EuMelaNet) to promote multidisciplinary research on melanins and melanogenesis and bridge the gap between basic and applied research in this field.
